    It is with profound sadness and grief that we announce the tragic line of duty death of Firefighter Benjamin Polson, of the St. Louis, MO Fire Department and member of IAFF Local 73. Firefighter Polson died while courageously fighting a house fire in the 5900 block of Cote Brilliante earlier today. Arrangements will be forthcoming.

    The IAFF Local 244 Executive Board is accepting letters of interest for the position of City Chapter Chief Steward and City 1st Steward for the next 14 calendar days. The Executive Board will appoint a member to serve in each position at the Executive Board meeting on February 3, 2022, until the next General Election in December 2022; in accordance with the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & Bylaws, Article VI, Section 5.     King Soopers is on STRIKE! What does that mean for us? We must be vigilant in supporting our fellow Union Sisters and Brothers as they navigate this Labor/Management dispute. Members of the UFCW Local 7 voted by 95% to strike, which means that 7600 members of the 8000 voted to strike. This being said, we can not cross the picket line.

This is a huge win for us .Under this law, any New York firefighter who suffers any medical condition related to Parkinson's that wasn't present before joining the service will be presumed to be related on-the-job exposure.
